Full Metal Jacket Shatter
Strain: Full Metal Jacket Shatter
Contributor: Asia Mayfield
Limonene: 8.73 mg/g
Full Metal Jacket Shatter by Shango hits a hefty 88% THC. That’s the kind of number people drool over. If you need a serious dose of THC, this is the way to get it. You’ll need a dab rig setup, however, to fully enjoy this concentrate.
To the uninitiated, shatter looks like a melted Jolly Rancher. It’s a yellowish, congealed blob on a thin strip of wax paper. The entire thing is packaged in a credit-card-sized black slip, emblazoned with Shango’s logo.
Shatter won its name by cracking into tiny shards whenever someone tries to break off a piece. So, be sure to keep an eye out; as a stray piece of shatter might fly everywhere (and anywhere). If that happens, you may find yourself picking up sticky morsels out of carpet fibers. So be careful.
Not much to say about this, really. In its glittering shatter form, there’s no smell at all. A slight scent develops when you smoke, but it’s not enough to make a difference. If you like aromatics, you’ll be disappointed that it’s so weak.
There is so much limonene and myrcene inside this tiny splotch of shatter that you’d assume it would affect the taste in some way, shape, or form. It doesn’t, however. As the wispy vapor trails out of your mouth, you might catch a hint of a dirty mint, but that’s it.
You don’t need a lot of shatter to get stoned. A tiny speck is enough, if you care about making it last. I can see someone loving this shatter, especially if they are dealing with serious pain. This could deliver a knockout blow to any discomfort, that’s for sure.
Product price: $26.99 for 0.5g
Shatter works best when you need to get high as soon as possible. One dab hit could leave you silly for hours, if you don’t have a lot of experience with weed. And this product’s 88% THC is just hard to ignore.
Shatter has a bad reputation with cannabis connoisseurs for some reason. It’s the cheapest form of butane hash oil, which is the concentrate with the least amount of finesse. Terpenes are often nonexistent, as well. But Shango’s Full Metal Jacket Shatter is an exception. It’s juicy with terpenes, rich in flavor, and just an all-around amazing product.

Shango’s reinvented itself since the early days of recreational cannabis.
At that time, the dispensary was burdened with a clunky waiting room and sky-high prices. Picking up weed involved winding through a thicket of receptionists, budtenders, and cashiers. Now, the process is seamless. The prices are still a little steep, but you can sidestep a lot of the costs if you show up during a deal hour (or day).
Let’s talk about the deals a little bit, because Shango bucks the trend. Instead of trying to heap together points, most of their specials revolve around the hour or day. That means tourists can save as easily as locals. Check out their website, or give them a call, before you head down, if you want to know exactly what the daily is. They change all of the time.
Right now, you can pick up any Shango gram for $10, if you show up between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. Some of these grams normally cost $18.
Shango’s giant facility is more than just a dispensary. It also houses a massive grow operation. All of the flower and most of the concentrates that you’ll find inside are Shango-grown. You can also find Shango products at dispensaries across town, as well.
The budtenders are chill and super flexible. In addition to that, most of them seem like they know what they’re talking about. The security presence is kind, but intense. Your bags are checked when you enter the building. A secure door separates the lobby from the dispensary, and another separates the dispensary from the employee area.
Pro tip- Bring an exit bag and save $2. You’ll be happy you did.
