Appearance 4/5
GMO nugs are fat and fluffy. Their gentle, dark green color is speckled with golden-orange pistils and glinting trichomes. However, you have to look closely before you notice any richness in the color. At a distance, your eye will only be able to discern the deep green. The nugs’ fluffiness means you will feel satisfied when you rip open the bag and see how much you have. Weed can look pretty meager for the amount if the buds are very dense.

Aroma 4/5
The aroma smacks you in the face the moment the buds spill out of the bag. GMO is an incredibly pungent strain. It smells like freshly mown grass dipped in gasoline. This is the weed that you dream about when you are in the mood for dank smelling buds. GMO buds would have the perfect aroma if there was a little more complexity to the smell. There aren’t that many notes for one to pick out.

Taste 4/5
GMO is a tasty mix of Chemdawg and Girl Scout Cookies. Based on its heritage, you might expect a sweet flavor tinged with muskiness. That is not quite what you get. People are finicky about real GMO’s, so a few nervous growers renamed the strain to Garlic Cookies. Whatever you think about their reasoning, they might be on to something. The name Garlic Cookies encapsulates the odd, funky taste better than GMO does. The smoke has a sweetish taste, but it is almost overpowered by a chemical, diesel flavor. GMO might be a tough strain for cannabis newbies to get into. You have to love weed to enjoy this flavor. When is the last time you ordered a garlic cookie?

Effect 4/5
GMO boasts a whopping 32% THC. As a longtime smoker, that is the kind of number that whets my appetite. It gets me interested. Why do I keep falling into this trap?! GMO is decent weed, but it is far from the best strain I have ever tried. It is not even the best strain grown by Tahoe Hydroponics. The thick, musky smoke tastes so strong that you are almost tricked into thinking GMO is an amazing strain at first. Your entire body is hit with a slew of different sensations. By the time everything settles down, you realize that you are not quite as high as thought you were. Your head is just a little too clear. Time to smoke another bowl!

GMO buds are full of myrcene, limonene, and B-caryophyllene. Each terpene is associated with different health benefits. Myrcene, one of the most common cannabis terpenes, is thought to be responsible for the deep sedative effects caused by indica strains. If you are trying to combat insomnia, GMO is a good strain to experiment with.

Because it hits your body so hard, GMO is also great at easing physical pain. People suffering from stomach pain may find relief. Limonene is suspected to have antibacterial as well as anti-fungal properties. This could assist with digestive issues.

Look, if you are smoking GMO by Tahoe Hydroponics, you are probably going to be pretty happy. Go to the beach, walk your dog, do something to stretch your legs and get outside. GMO is a dense, sleepy indica, but you can fight through it. Instead of taking a nap you can drift into a blissful, dreamy state. Feeling the sun prickling your skin will make it even better. Don’t be daunted by the staggering amount of THC. GMO packs a softer punch than you would expect.

Here is why I love The Source. It’s efficient. A lot of dispensary owners have no idea how to operate a retail store. They are clueless. Running a Las Vegas dispensary is basically a license to print money. You will be dripping with cash almost no matter what you do. You don’t have to create an amazing retail experience if your customers are desperate for product and store licenses are limited. That is why if you walk into the average local pot shop you will be subjected to a long, pointless wait in the lobby before you are allowed to start browsing.

The Source does it better. It is like going to Walmart for adults. You flash your ID at the receptionist before immediately entering the dispensary. You look at the products on display until you figure what you want. Then you stand in line until a budtender grabs your purchases and rings you up. The process is quick and easy.

Just a silly Sounding name

This is (most likely) an organic product with a silly-sounding name, as you suggested. It may have this name to imply a certain level of potency, as if it’s SO STRONG, it “had” to have been genetically modified. Again, this is just conjecture on my part, but if you are at all weary, by all means, avoid this strain, and pick up a bud that you are more comfortable with. Ain’t no shame in shopping, that’s what I always say.

Is it really GMO

I’d rather smoke something that’s fully organic. Is this just a funny name, or is this really a genetically modified product?

Comment: (Omar Levitt) By buddy and I smoked this before a movie, and we couldn’t stop laughing. Not sure if it was the movie or the bud, but we had a BLAST!

Strong as ever

The buds are a bit too light for my taste, but the smoke was still strong as ever.
