The fact that marijuana-enriched butter chicken isn’t already a staple in the cannabis community is beyond me. This country seems to always be infatuated with some sort of culinary trend. While these flavors or dishes have been around for literal centuries, it feels like one thing or another gets its proverbial time in the “spotlight,” wherein the majority of the country can’t believe how good something is – despite the fact that it has likely been around for hundreds of years. Kind of like marijuana-enriched butter chicken.
SEE ALSO: How To Make THC-Infused Paprika ChickenI’m talking about things like aiolis or umami flavor profiles. These two things are just considered basic in most culinarily sophisticated countries, but here in the states, where the burger and fries often reign supreme, any sort of deviation from the norm is often shunned away. So, when something “new” comes along and wins over the palettes of the otherwise picky American people, it tends to start a culinary trend that most other nations scoff at in judgmental laughter. But, regardless of how other countries view us, and our typical “American cuisine,” the fact remains that, every so often, a new type of food starts to be seen at more and more places, which is usually due to an influx of citizens finally opening up their food repertoires, and allowing a series of new flavors and tastes to win them over. Now, even though that sort of occurrence should be a normal way of life, it appears as though the upticks in “exotic” cuisines here in the U.S. are still on an “ebb and flow” basis. But, no matter how long they stay in the zeitgeist (and mouths) of Americans, when they are “all the rage,” it’s hard not to cross paths with them, especially if you’re one who routinely tries new things and restaurants.

Obviously, Indian food has been around for decades and decades, but for one reason or another, the folks here in the states are just now embracing this far east realm of food with open arms, and for good reason, this stuff is amazing! And, while there’s a veritable plethora of dishes one could order in this regard, I’d have to say that Chicken Makhani (or Butter Chicken) is my favorite. This multi-flavored meal of smothered butter chicken is absolutely unreal, and it became my new favorite dish after just one encounter. But, even though my experience with this intricate meal isn’t as extensive as others, I’ve recently developed a way to take this already scrumptious Indian dish to the next level. And I was able to do so thanks to the help of everybody’s favorite herb, marijuana. That’s right, my fellow enthusiasts. I’m about to teach you how to make Marijuana-Enriched Butter Chicken that’ll not only expand your culinary horizons, but it’ll elevate your mind (and body) to new heights, if you catch my drift.

Instructions
- Alright, now that you’ve gotten your hands on this somewhat lengthy list of ingredients, let’s get started, shall we?
- In order to kick things off for this recipe, you’ll want to work on your chicken first. To do that, you’ll want to grab a large bowl, and get to marinating that bird of yours.
- So, toss your chicken in the bowl, along with your pepper, salt, turmeric, chili powder, and Greek yogurt. Make sure the chicken is fully coated in this combination of ingredients before placing it in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours. Or, if you have the time, allow the chicken to marinate in this mixture overnight.
- After that, you’ll want to melt your regular, non-medicated butter in a large pot placed over a heat source set on “Medium.”
- Remove the chicken from its bowl of marinade, and place it in this pot. You’ll then want to brown the chicken, which should take about 2-3 minutes. After that, you can feel free to toss in your marinade, for a burst of added flavors. When you’re happy with how the chicken is looking, simply remove it from the pot, and place it aside for the time being.
- Now, let’s get to work on this butter sauce.
- In that very same pot, toss in 2 tablespoons of your cannabis-infused butter, and allow it to fully melt. Once it reaches that desired melted consistency, you can then add in your garam masala, onion, salt and pepper, brown sugar, cinnamon, garlic, ginger, cayenne pepper, turmeric, cumin, and chili powder. Keep those ingredients cooking until they develop a sincerely alluring aromatic profile.

- As soon as you regain a simmer in your pot, place the chicken back in, and let it all simmer for another 20 minutes or so. After that time period has elapsed, dump in your remaining cannabis-infused butter, and stir it into the contents, along with another round of salt and pepper (to taste).
- At this point, you should prepare a plate with your rice, and carefully place your butter chicken on top of it, along with a few spoonfuls of sauce for good measure. Finish the whole thing off with some fresh cilantro as a bright, vibrant green garnish, and boom, you’re done.
