Calm Your Mind & Body With This Incredible THC Tea

If you’re anything like me, you like to start your mornings off with a solid “wake and bake” session. I love this part of the day. What a calming reward for getting out of bed. After a solid night’s rest, I deserve to enjoy the relaxing properties of cannabis, and I think everyone one else should, too. Not only does this kick your day off on a tremendously serene and peaceful note, but it helps your mind ready itself for the tasks, duties, and chores that lie ahead.
It’s all about acquiring some inner tranquility during this part of the day. At least, that’s my main motivation when I light up for those mid-morning smokeouts. I find that the therapeutic nature of cannabis helps me prioritize not only my errands, but my emotions, as well. If I woke up feeling a bit uneasy or irritable, it only takes a couple tokes of cannabis to help my mind (and body) recenter itself. But, I’m sure I’m not the first person to sing the praises of a “wake and bake.”
In addition to all of those aforementioned benefits brought forth from a pre-noon puff session, I also enjoy how it increases my appetite, and prepares me for a hearty breakfast, that will, effectively, power me throughout the whole day. With this cuisine-inspired motivation, I will attain enough energy to take on whatever comes my way. And I wouldn’t have been able to “fuel up” in this culinary fashion, had it not been for the appetite-inducing powers of cannabis.

But, like I do after every substantial meal, I need a little relief to calm my newly-stuffed stomach. That’s where I typically roll up another one, and let the cannabis do its work. Alongside that second smoke session, I usually make myself a cup of tea.
Yes, tea is delicious, but it's also famous for its healing properties, especially with digestive issues. The abundance of antioxidants in tea, help your weary tummy relax, and get back to its comfortable state of rest. That’s why it's not uncommon to see someone sipping tea, if they are currently in the throes of a stomach issue. This fast-acting, completely herbal beverage is amazing, but could it get even more phenomenal?
I certainly think so
That’s why I’m here to share with you an awesome recipe for Homemade THC Tea!
That’s right, party people. That same drink that simply accompanied you on your smoking journey, is also going to do its part in getting you good and high, but in the most delicious way imaginable.
However, before we get any deeper into this unique, drinkable recipe, we’ll need to ready our cannabis. The first decision you will have to make, in regards to your bud, has to do with what kind of experience you are hoping to get from your Homemade THC Tea. By that I mean, are you looking to utilize the non-psychoactive elements of THCA, or are you trying to increase your high with the implementation of THC. The choice is completely up to you.

For those of you who may not be aware, THCA is the starting cannabinoid acid that eventually transforms into the more potent THC, through a low and slow heating process known as decarboxylation. While studies still need to be done on the effects of THCA, experts believe it is similar to CBD, in how it can deliver therapeutic benefits, without any sort of “high” for the consumer to contend with.
If that’s how you want your tea to be, by all means, go for it. You can simply scroll down to the full list of ingredients, and go from there. But, if you’re like me, and want a little more “umph” to your spot of tea, then you’ll want to fully decarboxylate your bud before moving on with this recipe.
Now, for this recipe, seeing as how it’s only for a cup of tea, you don’t really need a whole lot of cannabis. In fact, I’d say you only need 3-5 teaspoons of ground up bud. But it all depends on how strong of a tea you’re going for.
However much bud you plan on using, you’re going to want to break it down, but not too finely. Aim for the pieces to be roughly the size of a grain of rice. Once you’ve completed that step, place those ground-up buds onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. The parchment paper helps keep the buds slightly above the super-hot material of the baking sheet.
Then, you’re going to want to place that baking sheet into a preheated oven at 220°. Leave that sucker in there for 35-40 minutes. This will be ample time for the THC in your bud to activate through the low and slow heating method of the oven. When that time period has elapsed, remove the bud from the oven, and place it to the side for now.

You’ll know you’ve done a good job if the buds look a bit brown, but not burnt. If there is any indication of burning, you’ve likely overcooked your ganja and rendered it useless. A great way to avoid that is to make sure your baking sheet is placed in the middle of the oven, as both the top and bottom provide various temperatures. So, for a more balanced, foolproof approach to decarboxylating, you should always aim for the middle rack. You’ll be happy that you did.

Equipment

  • Cheesecloth
  • Twine (Or a Tea Infuser)

Ingredients

Alright, now that you’ve got your bud ready to go, here’s a quick list of ingredients needed to make this Homemade THC Tea:

  • 3-5 Teaspoons Cannabis
  • 2 Teaspoons Dried Chamomile
  • 2 Dried Rose Buds
  • 1 Teaspoons Honey (Medicated or Store-Bought)
  • Splash of Coconut Milk

Instructions

  • The first thing you’re going to want to do is place all of your cannabis flower into a sheet of cheesecloth, along with your dried rose buds and chamomile.
  • Form the cloth into a pouch (or tea bag) shape, and tie off the top with your twine. Should you have a professional tea infuser device already, you can forgo that cheesecloth route, and simply place those same ingredients inside of the infuser.
  • However you choose to “package” your tea ingredients, you’ll then place them in a cup full of hot water. Let those ingredients steep in that hot liquid for around 10 minutes.
  • That should be enough time for the THC and flavors to fully infuse themselves in the water. At which point, you can remove the infuser, or keep it in, as you sip your Homemade THC Tea.
  • Personally, I enjoy adding some honey and coconut milk to the mix. I find that it really rounds out the calming flavor profile, but it isn’t a requirement. So, if you want to keep it as is, that is more than fine.

Notes

But that’s it, people! That’s how you make a quick cup of Homemade THC Tea! Pretty dang simple, right? It might be one of the easiest cannabis recipes out there. In a matter of minutes, you were able to take an ordinary cup of tea, and fully infuse it with all the potent powers of marijuana.
Nicely done, my fellow cannabis enthusiasts.
