Impress Your Friends With This Recipe For Chorizo & Saffron Marijuana Fried Rice

One of the best things to do after a quality smoke session is order take-out. There’s really nothing better than grubbing on some professionally made food when you’re nice and stoned. And I don’t think I’m alone in making such a statement.
However, while there is a literal plethora of culinary options one could partake in whilst stoned, there’s one region of cuisine that ranks above them all, in my opinion, and it has stayed amongst the top of the pile for decades.
That beloved cuisine, my friends, is Chinese take-out.

There’s just something familiar, nostalgic, and reliable about Chinese food that I simply cannot get enough of - especially if I’m baked out of my mind, and eager to satisfy my seemingly insatiable hunger. No wonder it's one of the most beloved types of food out there - it’s phenomenal. But, more than that, it’s consistent.
Rare are the times when I’ve ordered Chinese take-out, only to be disappointed. That simply doesn’t happen.
They’ve perfected their flavor spectrum over the years, and I never doubt that I’ll be enjoying an excellent meal every single time I place an order. Also, it doesn’t even matter where I go, the average Chinese food establishment is just as good as the next, which is something that can’t be said for any other realm of region-based cuisine, in my opinion.

While there is a litany of different items that I often partake in during my Chinese food feasts, there’s one staple item that I never neglect when deciding what to feed my “munchies,” and that is the world-famous dish known only as, Fried Rice.
The combination of flavors, in concert with the soy sauce added, really “does it” for me. Even thinking about fried rice makes my mouth water. It’s pretty much a flawless meal, to be honest.
But, is there a way it can get even better?
Well, as I’m sure you can gauge from the title, there is - and it involves everybody’s favorite herbal ingredient: cannabis.
But, I’m not just infusing a typical dish of fried rice with some THC. No, that would be far too pedestrian. So, instead, we’re going to kick things up a couple notches, and create a cannabis-infused version of fried rice that is equal parts potent and sophisticated.

Equipment

  • Small bowl
  • Large pot
  • Non-stick skillet

Ingredients

  • 3 ¾ Cups of Chicken Stock
  • 2 Pinches of Saffron
  • 2 Cups of White Basmati Rice
  • ¼ Cup of Hot Water
  • 1 Tablespoon of Cannabis-Infused Olive Oil
  • 1 Small Onion Minced
  • 1 Teaspoon of Sea Salt
  • 3 Tablespoons of Cannabis-Infused Butter
  • 4 Chorizo Sausages
  • 2 Cups of Frozen Peas
  • 2 Large Carrots Shredded
  • 4 Eggs
  • Black Pepper Salt, and Soy Sauce (To Taste)

Instructions

  • To kick things off, let’s start working on your saffron rice.
  • For that, you’ll want to put your saffron threads into a small bowl. Then, with the back of a metal spoon, expertly crush the threads a bit. After that, add in hot water, and set it to the side for the time being.
  • Then, grab a large pot, and place it over a heat source set on “Medium.”
  • In it, dump in your cannabis-infused olive oil, along with your onions. You’ll want to give the onions about 10 minutes or so to saute.
  • Once they start to carmelize, you can toss in your rice, and stir, stir, stir. If you’d like, you can toss in a bit more cannabis-infused olive oil, as well, for good measure.
  • When you’re happy with how that’s looking, pour your saffron water into it, along with your chicken stock. Again, stir these ingredients up to the best of your ability.
  • Following that, you’ll want to bring all of this to a boil. Then, you’ll want to reduce the entire thing to a mellow simmer for about 20 minutes, until the rice is fully cooked.

Fried rice

  • Alright, now let’s refocus our attention on the fried rice portion of this dish, shall we?
  • In order to do that, you’ll need to properly cook your chorizo in a non-stick skillet.
  • Once you’ve successfully completed that step, slice each of the sausages into quarters, then dice ‘em up. After that, you’ll want to toss all of those diced chorizo pieces back into the skillet, and leave them in there until they crisp up a touch.
  • When they reach your desired level of crispness, remove the diced chorizo from the skillet, and in its place, toss in your cannabis-infused butter, peas, and carrots.
  • In the center of the pan, create a little well. In that well, toss in your eggs, and scramble them up to the best of your ability. Then, when the eggs are nice and cooked, you may then add in your previously cooked saffron rice.
  • At this point, you’ll want to saute the rice. As that happens, add in your chorizo, and follow that up with your desired amount of salt, pepper, and soy sauce.
  • Once you’re pleased with how everything is looking (and smelling) you can start to plate up your dish, and boom, that’s it!
  • You just made Chorizo & Saffron Marijuana Fried Rice.
    Congratulations!
