Cannabis Vinaigrette

When you go to a fine dining restaurant, it's all about decadence and elegance. From the decor to the cuisine, everything is always of the highest quality. And one aspect of these meals that sets them apart from the standard eatery is their multiple courses.
Sure, if you're at an Applebee's, perhaps, you and the gang will go halfsies on some chicken wings before your burger arrives at the table, but that hardly counts as a "coursed meal," in my eyes.
In my opinion, you know a place is incredibly fancy when you walk in knowing you'll go from apps to desserts without any question. At those lesser locations, you are primarily focused on the entree, and that's it. But not at an upper-echelon joint. At those places, you walk in knowing you're about to go "the distance," as far as eating is concerned.

At these high brow locations, they don't even ask, they just show up to your table during the early part of the meal and present everyone with a basket of bread for the party and individual salads for each member of the group. There's something about that expectancy that just screams "class," in my personal opinion.
Yes, there are loads of salad options to choose from, but for these places, they tend to go with rather basic fare in this regard. It's usually just something standard for the customer to partake in betwixt other bites of their meal. Also, they know a lot of the flavor will be coming from the accompanying vinaigrette, so they simply place the bottle next to the salad and let the customer load up on it until their heart's content.
That seems to be standard procedure regardless of where you'd find a salad, but the way decadent restaurants go about it just seems cooler than most. But it always leaves me asking myself, "What do they do to their vinaigrette? It's not like anything I've had from the store. I wonder what they're doing differently…"

That train of thought inspired me to go on a mission to come up with a super solid recipe for a homemade vinaigrette. While I combed through the depths of the internet comparing and contrasting various interpretations of this salad accompaniment, I realized that, no matter how prestigious a recipe was, it was missing one vital ingredient that I knew would take my homemade vinaigrette to the next level.
That ingredient, party people, is none other than everybody's favorite: cannabis.
Oh, yeah! You read that right. I'm about to show you how to make an amazing batch of Cannabis Vinaigrette that'll enhance any salad and any mood with delicious ease.
But, before I can reveal the list of necessary ingredients needed to complete this recipe, there's one major step that needs to be completed first. For this recipe, you'll need to make your own cannabis-infused cooking oil. But don't worry. It's not as hard as you think. Trust me.
Finally, let's get started on this super easy recipe for Cannabis Vinaigrette.

Equipment

  • Food processor
  • Large saucepan
  • Bottle for storage
  • Cheesecloth
  • Toothpick

Ingredients

Ingredients for this recipe are as follows

  • 1 Cannabis-Infused Oil
  • 1 Garlic (Minced)
  • 1 Red Onion (Minced)
  • 1/4 Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 ½ Teaspoon Fresh Basil/Oregano Blend
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Cannabis-infused cooking oil

  • 1 Cup Cannabis flower ground-up
  • 1 Cup Cooking oil olive, coconut tend to work best, go with whatever you'd like

Instructions

  • If you have one, plug it in and pop the top. Inside it, you'll toss in everything from that ingredients list, except the oil, salt, and pepper. Once everything is expertly placed inside, start processing all of those ingredients together until everything is perfectly blended in with one another.
  • Then comes the finesse part of the recipe.
  • I say "finesse" because it takes a little touch in order to achieve a truly perfect vinaigrette.
  • While everything else is churning away in the food processor, you'll want to gradually add in your cannabis-infused cooking oil. But you can't (nor should you) just dump it all in at once.
  • You need to use a steady hand, and carefully add in the oil. I find that if the stream of oil being added to the food processor never exceeds the thickness of a common toothpick, then you will be happy with the end result. That's the ideal speed to pour it in with the other contents.
  • Remember, the less oil you add, the less strong it will be. However, if you dump in too much, you'll be looking at an oily consistency when it's all said and done. Which isn't the worst thing. It's just not what we're aiming for with this particular recipe.
  • The second you feel like you've reached your desired consistency and thickness, you can finish everything off with some salt and pepper.
  • The amount of seasoning elements is completely dependent on your personal taste. If you're a fan of salt, like myself, go heavy with those grains. But, if you're aiming for a more subdued taste, you can go a little light on the seasoning.
  • It's all up to you - there are no wrong answers.
  • Take a quick taste of your brand new salad substance. If you think it needs a little work, play with the amount of salt and pepper you add. If you think it's ready to go, however, simply remove the food processor from its base, and gently pour the contents into a glass bottle for storage and serving.
  • And that's it. You just made Cannabis Vinaigrette.
  • Nicely done!

Cannabis-infused cooking oil How To Steps

  • First, you'll want to get a cup's worth of roughly ground-up cannabis flower, along with a cup's worth of your preferred cooking oil. I find that olive and coconut tend to work best for this procedure, but feel free to go with whatever you'd like.
  • In a large saucepan, dump in both cups' worth of contents, and make sure the heat setting is on medium.
  • You're not going to want the heat source to exceed 240°F. At that temperature, the THC in the cannabis flower can activate through the decarboxylation process.
  • For those unaware, that's the process that releases and activates the psychoactive components of cannabis, otherwise known as THC. In this state of "low and slow" heat, the psychoactive components are ready to bind to any substance that it comes in contact with. In this case, it will be cooking oil.
  • Stir the two ingredients together until everything is evenly dispersed amongst each other. You will want all of that potent THC to make its way through every nook and cranny that this oil may have.
  • Plus, you don't want any "weak spots" in the oil. You'll want every drop to pack a similar punch. And, in order to achieve that goal, you're going to want to keep that mixture of oil and cannabis on medium heat in the saucepan for about three hours.
  • Yes, I know that's a long time, but it's a perfect amount, considering we want this oil to be as potent as possible.
  • Then, you'll want to ready a bottle for storage by securing a cheesecloth over the opening of the bottle. Straining out the floral chunks of the saucepan's contents, you'll want to slowly pour the newly-infused oil into the bottle through the cheesecloth.
  • Once you've successfully stopped flower particles from making their way inside the final concoction, you're done. That's it.
  • You just made a batch of cannabis-infused cooking oil that you can use for any future recipe that would call for a cooking oil of some sort.
