Bohemian Brothers makes good weed. Seeing their logo plastered on a dispensary’s menu always makes me do a double-take. Whatever I was in the mood for before disappears from my mind. Now I have to get 24K Gold by Bohemian Brothers. Let’s dive in.
Bohemian Brothers packages their grams in tiny black plastic bags, with their logo stamped on the side. When you rip it open, a few yellowish buds roll out. They’re fat and dense, with beads of resin congealed in their hair. I’m not picky about what my weed looks like, to be honest. The correlation between appearance and quality is slight. Still, you may as well have pretty buds, if you have a choice.
What does gold smell like? This strain’s scent is as indefinite as that intriguing query. It smells like weed, sure, but the aroma flits through your brain, and dissolves before you can tease out another scent profile. You’re left with a general sense of sniffing dank buds. I would grant 24K Gold a higher score, but it’s hampered by my expectations. I just thought it would be better, that’s all.
24K Gold has a tangy, lemon-like flavor that slices through its weedy taste. The flavor is so inviting, you want it to linger on your tongue for as long as possible. Surprisingly, the smoke has more flavor than scent. The aroma was negligible, but the taste is enough to make me want to smoke another bowl.
This strain isn’t Bohemian Brothers’ best, but don’t let that dissuade you. It’s still a glorious strain, one of the best in the city. Bohemian Brothers is one of my favorite grow operations, but the brand hasn’t infiltrated every dispensary yet. So, finding their name in the wild is still a joy. 24K Gold delivers a sweet, tingling high that is well worth its moderate price.
24K Gold is as good as it gets. Cannabis lovers and newbies should get a taste of this strain immediately. Sativas are supposed to perk up your brain. You can smoke a few puffs before heading out to party. People rarely associate cannabis with being social, though, but they should. The caricature of the zoned-out stoner is too prevalent and stereotypical. 24K Gold will change your preconceptions in just a couple tokes. I guarantee it.
You can’t go wrong with a Bohemian Brothers strain. 24K Gold isn’t the best weed that I’ve ever smoked, but it’s up there. If you’ve never smoked before, you should break into the cannabis world with a strain like 24K Gold.

Oasis Dispensary, Lacking the big, obvious appeal found at most Strip-side dispensaries, Oasis has its own unique style. You’re not going to be attracted by the building, itself. It’s a dull, multistory eyesore with a giant, L-shaped Oasis sign hanging on one of the walls. To find the parking lot, you have to twist around the corner, and head down a skinny alleyway.
I always feel like I spend too much time at Oasis. Their system is clunky and slow. Consumers are free to travel the floor space, until they latch onto a budtender. The budtender takes your order, and delivers it to a waiting staffer in another room. Unseen hands in the back of the dispensary fill the order. While this happens, you have to stand there idly, not really sure what you’re waiting for. Once your order finally arrives at the front, you can check out.
It’s tedious, but I almost don’t care. Oasis has the best deals that you will find at any dispensary, by far. This is the land of $5 pre-rolls and $20 eighths. Street weed was never this cheap, or this good. The budtenders are decently knowledgeable. They know enough to answer most basic questions, so that’s something.
Oasis’s inventory is solid. You’ll find a lot of familiar names here. Flower is separated into tiers based on quality. The daily deal strains usually aren’t the dankest buds in the building, but they aren’t awful, either. You can be a weed snob and still satisfy your needs here - no doubt about it.
