Jack Herer

Named after the “Emperor of Hemp”, a highly prominent figure in the movement to legalize cannabis, Jack Herer is a potent strain that any marijuana user will enjoy.  This popular Sativa is a Haze hybrid of Northern Lights #5 and Shiva Skunk. 

Appearance 4/5
Jack Herer produces huge, dense buds that are dark forest green.  The layer of trichromes is so heavy that the bud almost feels solid.  The stigmas are very dark and mostly brown.  When ground, one can tell these buds have heavy resin production more typically associated with an Indica.

Aroma 3/5
This strain is incredibly pungent.  Once one gets past the pungency, one will notice a heavy pine scent as well.  There is a citrusy note that adds some sourness.  There is also a spiciness that is not so noticeable until one lets their buds breathe some or once ground.

Taste 4/5
The taste of Jack Herer is much more pleasant than the smell.  The pungency is almost nonexistent in the flavor.  It is much more earthy and spicy reminiscent of a fireplace or bonfire.  Jack Herer has a very woodsy quality to it.

Jack Herer is buzzy.  The user should almost instantly feel a buzz in their head that travels down into the shoulders.  It carries an upbeat, energetic sensation with it that feels invigorating.  One will feel clearheaded and focused; however, as the high settles in the user may feel a sense of euphoria.  Depending on how pronounced that feeling is, the user may notice a decline in productivity.

Jack Herer is for those that need to be productive but might not be happy about it.  For those that may have anxiety and typically stay away from Sativa, this may be the strain to try.  It is energetic but calm at the same time which should balance each other and stave off any feelings of paranoia.

Jack Herer is a Sativa that anyone can appreciate.  The gentleness of this strain earns it a 4/5.  I did not expect to like this at all since it was so pungent, but I gave it a chance.  Get over to Inyo to have their budtenders find something that may not be the first choice and give it a try, like I did, for a great surprise.

Inyo’s location can be a turn off for some. It is located on the corner of Maryland Parkway and Sahara which, as locals know, is an area where many transient folks typically congregate. Inyo takes its customers’ comfort and safety seriously by making sure their shop is very secure and well maintained. Their area of the parking lot is very well lit, and they have double doors that customers have to be buzzed in through upon entering and exiting the dispensary. They will also escort their customers to and from their vehicles if requested for an added layer of comfort.

This dispensary also offers ways to speed up the process of purchasing cannabis. For those that don’t want to spend too much time in the dispensary, they have a pick-up option powered by Dutchie. They can also make deliveries. For customers that may have mobility issues or are already under the influence, one can simply place an order through Blackbird and sit back and wait in the comfort of their own home.

To continue their theme of customers first, their budtenders care. I referred a friend to them, and they truly took care of them. The budtenders at Inyo listen. When I first started going to them, they had fun exploring different options related to what I told them I wanted. They asked questions about what I like to do when I use cannabis and what ways I like to consume. When they had a good idea of what I wanted, they made suggestions based on my preferences. They didn’t try to push anything on me, and they didn’t just go off the top of their heads on what they like. Inyo’s budtenders took the same care with my friend, and now, they are managing their anxiety and panic attacks much better than when on prescriptions.
