Cactus OG
Cactus OG is a sativa dominant hybrid that was created by crossing Afghani and Nothern Lights. Cactus OG gets its names for its resemblance to a cactus. The buds are very knobby. They have these bumps that flair off the sides like a cactus. This strain is known for being a very nice mix of body-high and head-high.

Appearance 3/5
At first glance, the Cactus OG looks similar to a Cactus with knobs peppered all over each bud. The nugs have a large number of red hairs on them, more than most strains I have reviewed. Each bud is powdered with frosty white trichomes. The buds are a bit on the dry side, but that seemed to be typical for Nevada. There is a nice contrast of yellow, orange, and green on each nug.

Aroma 3/5
Cactus OG has a very earthy aroma, much like its parents. The scent is a musky, citrus-like aroma. It's sweet but still very earthy. It smells like lemon-scented floor cleaner mixed with fresh potting soil. The fresh pine aroma is very calming. The scent reminds me of fresh-cut cabbage that has a bit of dirt and lemon juice on it.

Taste 3/5
Cactus OG has a flavor like sour lemonade that has clove mixed in. It has a very spice-like flavor. The smoke is very smooth, there is a slight burn in my throat after I exhale. It has a very earthy aftertaste. The citrus flavor coats my mouth. The pungent flavor of Cactus OG is very distinct. It tastes unlike any other strain I have tried in the past. It has a slight sour pickle flavor.

Effect 3/5
Cactus OG by Desert Grown Farms gives the user a very balanced high. There is a very even mixture of body-high and head high. My back pain was really bothering me before I smoked a joint of Cactus OG. After smoking the joint, my back was still hurting, but the pain was way less. My mind raced a bit at first, but after about half an hour, that stopped. I felt high but not drowsy, which is a nice change for the indicas I usually smoke.

Product price: $25 for 3.5G

Cactus OG by Desert Farms is a great strain for social settings because it doesn't make users feel drowsy. The head high is nice because it lowers the user's inhibitions enough to get conversations started. I did get a bit anxious from this sativa-dominant hybrid, but that dissipated fairly quickly. Cactus OG does provide some pain relief, but its strong head-high effect is something I wouldn't recommend for users that are prone to anxiety attacks.

Overall I felt Cactus OG by Desert Grown Farms a mediocre at best. I was impressed with the mixture of head and body high at first, but it did wear off very quickly. The buds were a lot drier than I like them to be. I think this would be okay for users that don't have a lot of experience with cannabis because it is a very even mixture of indica and sativa effects.

Essence Dispensary
Essence Dispensary is one of only two dispensaries on the Las Vegas Strip. It has two giant walls of green lights on both sides of the entrance, making it very easy to find. The parking is a bit cramped. There is almost always a line for recreational customers, but if you have a medical card, you get to skip the line. The budtenders are both friendly and knowledgeable. My budtender, they call "The Miller." He was very patient and told me about his favorite strains while I looked at the menu. Essence has a relaxed atmosphere in the showroom. I felt right at home as soon as I opened the door. "The Miller" made me feel right at home. One of the first things he asked was, "Would you like me to explain the profiles on the strains your looking at?" This piqued my interest, so of course, my answer was yes. As I looked at each strain, he explained the terpene profile for each and explained the effects for each. It was a nice touch, and I learned a few things. I ended up getting 1/8th of Cactus Og for $25.
