A cross between Mad Scientist and Timewreck, Dr. Who was originally bred in the Pacific Northwest. It’s a very potent indica-heavy hybrid, following the recent tradition of naming potent strains of cannabis after science fiction characters, aliens, and monsters.

Appearance: 4.5/5
Small popcorn buds, jade green in color, with dark violet spots. Light orange hairs around every groove of the buds, with a nice coating of crystals. The little buds are light and crispy. The crystals make them very sticky. However, the buds are very small, so one or two buds will load most bowls without much breakdown. Very pretty, the combination of colors makes the buds very vibrant. Unfortunately, the buds are very small and must be viewed very close to see their beauty.

Aroma: 4/5
An extremely light fragrance, like the smell of trees with a warm wind blowing through them in the summertime. An intoxicating smell, I buried my nose in the jar repeatedly. Slightly piney, almost minty, and a little sweet. Once burned, the buds put off a bit more of a piney fragrance. Nothing overly powerful. Quite delightful, really. I would have liked it to be slightly stronger.

Taste: 4/5
A bit on the harsh side, very piney in flavor, with a hint of mint. Almost like smoking actual pine trees. Not as sweet as it smelled, but still very rich in flavor. I could taste the mint for several minutes after taking a hit. I think the mint helped a little, making it slightly less harsh than it could have been. I liked it nonetheless. Makes me smoke a little slower.

Effect: 5/5
This strain hit hard and fast. After one bowl, I found myself ready to vegetate. Total relaxation of my entire body. It hit my head just as quickly, and I slowly melted into my couch to watch movies. It didn’t make me tired so much as it just completely relaxed my body and mind. It lasted for several hours, and I didn’t find myself loading another bowl until well after the movie was over.

Good for medical and recreational users. Great for pain, muscle aches, headaches, after long days, insomnia, and just general relaxation. Good for video gaming, watching movies, playing board games, and other general couch potato activities. Possibly a bit strong for newer users, maybe even some seasoned users as well.

I totally get the name after smoking it. Dr. Who relaxed my entire body and mind. It’s definitely an indica-hybrid. I found the buds to be extremely vibrant and beautiful, if a little small. The aroma was pleasant, if a bit on the lighter side. It was harsh, but the slight minty flavor helped a bit. When it came down to it, though, this strain was very potent. It knocked me off my feet with less than a bowl. I’m a daily smoker, and it’s nice when I find a good strain that kicks my butt.

Greenleaf wellness is located across from Baldini’s Casino, on Glendale Ave. They have been open since dispensaries only served medical customers, and recently remodeled. The wall that used to separate the clients from the bud counter has been removed. Now when I walk in, I don’t feel like I’m waiting in a doctor’s office. I can openly see the employees, the buds behind the counter, and a nice person greets me right inside the door to check my ID. It’s still a smaller shop, but they don’t lack in the variety of products they offer. From drinks, edibles, oils, wax, vape pens, and of course, strains of flower. They are in an older building, but the inside looks new and clean. The parking lot is older as well, and parking can be limited at peak times. I recommend going earlier in the day if possible.

The staff was friendly, answered my questions without hesitation, and offered honest recommendations based not only on their personal experience but also from what other customers had reported back to them on specific strains. They seem to genuinely know their products. I didn’t feel rushed at all, but I was in and out with my purchase in less than 5 minutes. They also offer a rewards program, with rewards points redeemable for edibles, vapes, and flower. It’s a great program for even the most casual of customers.

I love this bud!

If I was an artist (which I am not) tasked with drawing up my ideal batch of cannabis buds, it would likely come out looking like this. Well, to be fair, these look better than any artist rendering, as they are simply perfect, in my opinion. Also, aesthetics aside, when we talk about flavor and high, this strain hits every target that it aims to hit. I am a big believer in properly grown buds being able to enhance the quality of life of ANY person, and this is one of those strains that is suited to fit any and all experience levels with the greatest of ease. In summation, I love this bud!

What a great question.

What a great question, and thanks for asking it. Yes, this is the perfect bud for anyone who wants to kick their feet up after a long day of work, and just shut their mind off for a while. No, this won’t make you comatose or anything, no cannabis strain will. But, that said, it will have you feeling instantly relaxed in a short matter of time. Think of the feeling as one that is akin to getting out of a hot tub after 30-40 minutes. Your body and mind are at ease, but you still have total functionality, only in a more subdued, far more chill way. And, I don’t know about you, but anything that helps calm my always anxious demeanor is “A-OK” in my book. So, to wrap up this lengthy response to your amazing question, yes, I’d strongly urge you to grab a couple grams of this, if not a full eighth. You’ll want a small pipe, as well, as I feel like someone in your particular situation would benefit mentally, physically, and financially by simply microdosing a few hits after the day is done. That should put a smile on your face and your bank account.

unique wantingness

Things at my job have been pretty hectic recently. I’m sure I’m not the only one with such added stress nowadays, but the little time I have at home, I need to make sure I use it wisely on things that I want to do. And, to be honest, the main thing that I like to do at the end of the day is just RELAX. I’ve recently started incorporating cannabis into my life, via a vape pen, which has been fun and all, but it doesn’t offer up that needed “umph” that I’ve gotten from smoking flower in the past. Do you think this bud would be a good purchase for me, and my unique wantingness to just mellow out as soon as I get home from work?

It's Legendary!

I’ve been smoking for a long time. And when I say “long time,” I mean “LONG TIME.” And, while I’ve been around, smoking this and that for decades, I can’t say I recall the last time I stumbled across a batch of buds that are, well, this beautiful! They are simply stunning. As a lifelong fan and appreciator of all things cannabis, I really know a solid strain when I see one. And, folks, this is one SOLID strain. From top to bottom, this baby was perfectly grown and cultivated, which is why the end result is this striking. It’s so pretty, I almost don’t want to smoke it. “Almost” being the operative word there. Anyway, all this rambling to say that you should all purchase this strain, if you are lucky enough to spot it at your dispensary. It’s legendary, and you’ll see why after only one hit.
