Appearance 3/5
Cannabis nugs don’t need to be bedazzled to stand out. The simple plant on its own is enough. Yet, Island Sweet Skunk is a little too plain-looking. The buds don’t have enough color. They are mostly a uniform green shade with small orange spots. You wouldn’t even notice the orange if you didn’t look closely.

Aroma 3/5
Island Sweet Skunk’s aroma is described in its name. It smells like a tropical fruit that has gone slightly sour. If you are new to smoking and not yet used to pungent weed odors, you might appreciate the mildness of these buds’ aroma. You will most likely forget what Island Sweet Skunk smelled like two seconds after you are done smoking it.

Taste 3/5
Island Sweet Skunk is the result of a marriage between Big Skunk #1 and Sweet Pink Grapefruit. The skunky taste is easy to identify but the fruity notes are more difficult. Sweet Pink Grapefruit nearly disappears under Big Skunk’s influence. The best thing that I can say about the taste is that it is not very strong. You won’t have to worry about a harsh aftertaste.

Effect 3/5
A few years ago, I would have said Island Sweet Skunk buds were close to perfection. The quick high that hurtles through your brain when you take a hit is invigorating. However, legalization has changed everything. Dispensaries often list 20+ strains on their menus. Point your finger at a random name on the list and you have a 50/50 shot of picking a better strain. Island Sweet Skunk is thoroughly average

Remedy is a powerhouse brand. Their strains are dank, dripping with THC and aromatic terpenes. Island Sweet Skunk, however, is not their strongest offering. The buds deliver a laid-back high suitable for lazy days at the beach. Take a break from the Strip. Lake Mead is only a 30-minute drive away. You can rent a boat or jet skis and have a blast on the water while you blaze Island Sweet Skunk. The best thing about the buds is the price. It is hard to complain about a $10 gram that tests at more than 24% THC.

Silver Sage Wellness is located in a non-descript strip mall. If you didn’t already know what you were coming here for, there would be no reason to stop. The parking lot is long and narrow. It’s no problem if you show up during the slow hours. However, try to pop in when the dispensary is slammed, and the lot suddenly feels uncomfortably cramped.

The lobby is large and well-lit. After the security guard checks your ID, you can head into the main dispensary. There’s almost no room to move around, however, because the line is pressed against the door. You’re enveloped by waiting people when you walk in.

Silver Sage Wellness offers extremely competitive prices. In addition to a robust rewards program, the dispensary hosts constant deals. They’re always changing, so you should sign up for their text notification program.

This month, the deals are particularly juicy. They’re offering $25 eighths from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. and $8.46 grams. This on top of their current batch of weekly deals which includes promotions like $12 top-shelf Remedy grams.

Silver Sage Wellness is where you go when you want to buy quality weed and you don’t care about the bells and whistles associated with Strip dispensaries. My budtender was relaxed and helpful. She wasn’t pushy. She guided me to Island Sweet Skunk, a cheerful strain priced at $10 for one gram.

Being a good budtender takes skill. The Silver Sage Wellness crew is upbeat.

Buying the Strain Alex?

Probably not. It’s best not to ask the budtender to tamper with any of the product, as that is likely against the protocol of that particular establishment. But, if you’re in the market for pre-rolls only, but like this bud, you can ask your budtender to show you some joints that may have a similar THC percentage or terpene profile. That oughta lead you to an adequate replacement.

If I wanted to buy this strain, but only in a pre-rolled joint, could I ask my budtender to do that for me?
