J1 by Cannabiotix

It’s hard to form an opinion about J1 by Cannabiotix before smoking it. The name doesn’t suggest anything. The strain is a hybrid so you have no idea if you should expect a cerebral or a body high.
I picked J1 because it was the most interesting sounding weed on the menu.
J1 buds are the perfect size. Buds that grow too thick are hard to handle. The flower resists grinders. I always wonder if I’m being cheated because the amount looks off. It’s unsatisfying to buy an eighth and look down on a single nug or two.
Buds that are too small or wispy are also unsatisfying. J1 buds are medium-sized. Each one is a light green color, silvered over with trichomes.
The aroma leaps out of the jar. It smells like plant matter that’s been dipped in sugar. The different aromas don’t compete - they mix together wonderfully.
The smoke has a thick diesel flavor that clings to the tongue. It’s tempered by a faint, sweet undertone. The taste grew on me the more I inhaled.
J1 smokes like a sleepy indica. All I wanted to do after taking a hit was pick up some fast food and take a nap. The lights on the Del Taco building across the street were like a beacon.
J1 will appeal to a lot of users. J1 buds are testing at 24% THC. A couple of years ago, that might have been the strongest weed in the neighborhood. Now? Nobody bats an eye. J1 isn’t even the most potent Cannabiotix weed sold at ShowGrow.
Medical cannabis users have distinct needs. A simple, unfussy strain might be appealing in some conditions. Patients suffering from chronic pain who don’t want to be high all day need to get creative. Smoking a low-THC, high-CBD strain might keep a patient sober, but it also might not do anything for the patient’s pain. Some medical users need THC to experience relief.
J1 by Cannabiotix is a sleepy strain that I’d never turn down if it was being passed around, but I would never intentionally seek it out either. It didn’t really do much for me. I liked smoking it because I’m a pothead and most of the weed sold by dispensaries is appealing to me.
The beauty of cannabis is that strains affect individuals in varying ways. The only way to know if a strain will work for you – try it.
ShowGrow has daily great deals on products. I recommend browsing their online menu to gain better insight into everything this location has to offer.

This was my first visit to ShowGrow. I somehow skipped this location when, in a delirium of excitement after recreational weed was legalized, I visited a new dispensary every day. ShowGrow is located in a busy part of the Southwest. The building is attached to a prosperous-looking dentist’s office.
ShowGrow’s walls are gleaming white. The aesthetic fits a boutique jewelry store or a tech shop. Like most dispensaries, the space is split into a lobby area and a separate sales area. The receptionist was eying her phone when I entered and took a few seconds to look up.
The negative impression given at first, evaporated once I was in front of the budtender. I already knew what I wanted. J1 by Cannabiotix. I’d scanned the menu before stopping by and was drawn to that strain. I didn’t have any questions to ask. My budtender was smiley and fast, which was really all I needed.
Space is limited inside the dispensary. Most of the inventory is displayed under well-lit glass. The prices aren't noticeably cheap or expensive. If you want to save money, you can sign up for their rewards system. You receive 1 point for every dollar you spend. You can also take advantage of their constant deals.
The day I visited, anyone who spent at least $45 on Nature’s Chemistry products received a onegram pre-roll of their choice. Sign up for ShowGrow’s text alerts if you want to stay updated on their deals.
