I was looking for something that would have a relaxing effect without creating couch-lock while still being alert. Desert Snow is a nicely balanced strain that helps achieve this. It also carries 0.08% CBD and has been known to help individuals with aches and pains. Luckily, Desert Snow by FloraVega was on special for $50 a for a 1/4 at ShowGrow.
Appearance 4/5
FloraVega makes some nice products. This 1/4 came in a glass jar with a tin lid, branded cleanly with FloraVega’s “FV” logo. Inside the jar, the large heart-shaped buds are a dark green color covered in a glistening coat of trichomes and are said to look like a cactus covered in snow. Hence the name Desert Snow. Initially, I was surprised by how large and symmetrical the buds were.

Aroma 4.5/5
The aroma on this is complex. There is an earthy, lemon, citrus scent present. But the more I continue to smell it, the more I can pick up on mint. The earthy scents are due to the levels of myrcene (6.60mg/g), which possesses an herbal and musky aroma, such as cloves or cardamom. Myrcene is what also creates a relaxing effect. There is a peppery undertone as well, due to the levels of caryophyllene (4.54mg/g). Caryophyllene can help treat pain and relieve stress. Caryophyllene is also found in black pepper and cinnamon.

The earthy and lemon flavors combine with a cool mint. It creates almost a frosty, autumn morning breeze feel. The earth is definitely more prominent in the flavor profile. In a weird way, it tastes just like its name. The earth tones of the desert combine with the fresh winter-like mint to create the flavor profile that is Desert Snow.

The immediate head high feeling was accompanied by a euphoric, ready to go feeling. The body buzz started to creep up slowly, resulting in a relaxed, gentle tingling sensation. Desert Snow finds a way to balance a gentle body high with increased cerebral activity. In larger doses it may have a sedated effect on the user.
Desert Snow by FloraVega is great for easing stress and winding down at the end of a long day. With 0.08% of CBD, it can also be used to relieve aches, pains, and paranoia. The high caryophyllene levels can help relieve stress and treat pain and anxiety, as well as depression. This is a great strain for relaxing and winding down the day. This strain is geared more towards the intermediate to advanced user.

Located just off the 215 and Tropicana, ShowGrow Dispensary has a very modern and clean setup. After navigating through the somewhat overly cramped parking situation, simply entering the dispensary begins to ease the tension. The door was opened by the security guard upon entering. It was a nice, friendly gesture that was quite unexpected. Not a bad way to start off the customer experience, so far I am impressed. After getting checked in and entering the showroom, it felt like something out of the future. An extraordinary amount of thought and time had gone into the lighting and design of this space. The showroom is bright, clean, and minimalistic. The layout creates an efficient customer flow of traffic. Digital menus hang above the products that are near them, creating a simple yet intuitive design and use of space.

Crispy, crunchy, and surprisingly dense. That’s basically the most succinct way to surmise my experience with this truly awesome strain. From the moment I rustled my nugs out of the jar, I knew I was going to be in for a good time. And, man, was I right. I smoked this with a couple of my boys, and we couldn’t stop laughing – or playing video games. This stuff had us in the zone for hours. I don’t think we’ve been that high for years. My kudos to the grower of this fine crop. Nicely done, whoever you are. Your work is very much appreciated. Keep it up.

Don’t get me wrong
I run a lot of errands for my family. Don’t get me wrong, I love doing it, but sometimes it can be really stressful. I’ve recently tried to smoke a bit before I head out for the day, and every so often it helps me relax throughout my shopping trips. But, to be honest, there are times when it makes things a bit more stressful. My son told me that’s because I need to find the right strain to mellow me out without knocking me out, if that makes sense. And, with that in mind, it appears as though this strain may be able to do exactly that. But I would love a second opinion on that. Am I correct with that assumption, or should I search for another that may be able to help me with my specific wants and needs?

Look, I think it’s already common knowledge how AWESOME this bud is. It tastes fantastic, looks like it was pulled out of the centerfold of a prized marijuana magazine, and the delightful series of serene effects that it famously delivers on an impressively consistent basis is tremendous. But let’s talk about how trippy (and cool) the name Desert Snow is! I mean, that sort of oxymoronic title is enough to make me launch into a whole realm of new thoughts and concepts. Which, to be fair, is just another one of the many reasons to absolutely LOVE this strain!
