Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking sheet
  • Aluminum foil
  • Herb grinder or food processor
  • Double boiler or saucepan
  • Cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer
  • Glass jar or bottle for storage

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of your preferred cooking oil
  • 7-10 grams of decarboxylated cannabis flower

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 240°F (115°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spread the decarboxylated cannabis evenly on the sheet
  • Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake the cannabis for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it becomes dry and crumbly. This process activates the cannabinoids in the cannabis for optimal potency
  • Once the cannabis is decarboxylated, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Grind the cannabis using an herb grinder or food processor until it becomes a coarse powder
  • In a double boiler or saucepan, heat the cooking oil over low heat until warm but not boiling
  • Add the ground cannabis to the warm oil and stir to combine thoroughly. Allow the mixture to simmer gently over low heat for 2-4 hours, stirring occasionally
  • After simmering, remove the oil from the heat and let it cool slightly
  • Place a piece of cheesecloth or a fine mesh strainer over a glass jar or bottle. Carefully pour the infused oil through the cheesecloth/strainer to remove the plant material
  • Squeeze or press the cheesecloth to extract any remaining oil from the cannabis
  • Seal the jar or bottle tightly and store the cannabis-infused cooking oil in a cool, dark place until ready to use

Notes

  • Dosage may vary depending on the potency of the cannabis used and individual tolerance. Start with a small amount and adjust as needed.
  • Use caution when handling and storing cannabis-infused oil to prevent accidental ingestion or misuse.
  • Label the infused oil clearly and keep it out of reach of children and pets.
  • Experiment with different oils and strains of cannabis to customize the flavor and effects of your infused oil.
