Of course, when compiling a list like this you are always bound to upset someone and have somebody disagree with you. So, for the sake of disclaimer: This is a subjective ranking of the top five sativa strains available in Las Vegas. In fact, aren’t all lists such as this subjective? Even if you took a poll, that would still be based off of everyone’s opinions. So, without further ado and an extensive amount of research, here are the top five sativa strains in Las Vegas.

1. Ghost Train Haze by Nature’s Chemistry

Figuring out exactly how to rank these proved to be an extremely difficult task. If you love sativa strains, anything on this list is a near home run. So, choosing the strain to occupy the number one spot made it that much more difficult. After a long hard debate Ghost Train Haze claimed the top spot on this list. This sativa strain is a cross between Neville’s Wreck and Ghost OG. The pale green buds are thick and dense. They are rich with trichomes and light orange hairs. The first thing that comes to mind when thinking about Ghost Train Haze is the unmistakable smell. It is as if a small citrusy electric current is being sent straight through the brain upon smelling it for the first time. It smells like someone just finished cleaning with lemon Pledge. From the moment it takes the wheel it is an energetic calm. It puts one in a relaxed state, but it is like a clock that keeps on ticking. Kills all anxiety and just leaves one with their thoughts. Not in a bad way though. It is like being one with isolation. Solitude seems to have too negative of a connotation as well. If only there was a better word. Maybe tranquility. Solace.

2. Green Crack by Prime

Originally named Cush or Green Cush with a “C”, this strain was renamed Green Crack by none other than Snoop Dogg himself after experiencing the intense sativa effects. Few strains can compare to Green Crack when it comes to its sharp energy and focus. It is said to be a cross between Skunk #1 and Afghani Landrace. This strain is likely to make users energized and inspired. Due to the negative connotation of its name, many cannabis purists prefer to call it by its original name, Cush or Green Cush. Because of its uplifting effects, this strain isn’t recommended for nighttime use. The boost of energy is cerebral and makes for a great wake and bake strain. The smoke is very smooth, and the exhale is vaguely spicy and tastes like hash. This potent daytime strain is sure to have you uplifted for hours.

3. Jack Herer by Desert Bloom

This is the strain named after the lifelong cannabis enthusiast, and although the genetic formula has been secretly guarded, many believe the Jack Herer strain comes from Haze crossed with Northern Lights #5 and Shiva Skunk. While not visually impressive, the buds have an orange-lemon scent to them with a hint of pine. This balance in the terpene profile leaves its users relaxed but attentive. The well-rounded effects of Jack Herer have made the strain immensely popular with both recreational and medical users. With a high trichome count, the buds are very sticky to handle. When smoked, the flower gives off a clean and herbal scent with a spicy floral note. This strain acts quickly with a strong energizing head rush. This can be a particularly good strain for creative brainstorming. It can also lead to facilitating conversation. Jack Herer typically leaves users feeling stimulated while in full lucid control. The well-rounded effects of Jack Herer make it a great strain for cannabis newcomers.

4. Secret Weapon by Prime

This sativa dominant hybrid boasting 32.59% THC will provide you with that extra oomph you need to get the job done. If you need to buckle down, focus, and zone in, then this is the strain for you. Whether it is the monotonous and tedious task of crunching numbers or constructing a piece from IKEA with a thousand different parts, this is the perfect choice to complete the job. More ideal for daytime use, this potent stimulant is a hybrid between cheese quake and white widow. The citrus and pine scent give it an extra fresh feel that is unmistakable and smells absolutely amazing. The unusual terpene profile has led some to believe they can smell coffee, fruit, pine, and even cheese in the aroma. The fast-acting euphoric headiness creates a substantial buzz. We can easily see how it has garnered its name. However, soon we don’t think it will be so secret.

5. Lemon Killer Haze by Nature’s Chemistry

This is a very popular sativa strain with many close relatives. Lemon Haze, Super Lemon Haze, Lemon OG Haze, Lemon Kush, and Lemon OG, just to name a few. There is obviously a reason why there are so many close derivatives of this strain. Something is working here, and there is something about these lemon haze characteristics that people enjoy. Amongst this lot and the generous amount of options that abound, Lemon Killer Haze by Nature’s Chemistry has stood out. Lemon Killer Haze is a cross between Super Lemon Haze and Killer Queen. The terpene profile emits the potent scent of skunk mixed with lemons. THC levels average in the high 20’s with some batches reaching up to 30%. Many have described the effects as a sudden rush of creative and introspective thoughts. People might use this strain to pursue creative hobbies or engage in physical activities.

This list could really fall in any order based on personal preference. All of these strains are somewhat similar, resulting in an energetic, euphoric, and uplifting daytime high. The small subtleties in the terpene profiles are what separates these strains from each other. If you love sativa strains, you are bound to enjoy anything on this list.
