Instructions
- To kick things off, you’ll want to grease up your baking dish with as much (or as little) cannabis-infused butter as you see fit. However much you use, just make sure it’s enough to prevent sticking during the cooking process.
- After completing that quick step, grab about 10 sheets of your Filo Dough, and thoroughly coat each and every single one of them in cannabis-infused butter, before placing them in the baking pan – stacking one on top of the other. That’ll help you achieve the layering of deliciousness that baklava is famous for.
- Once you’re done with that, you can then grab a bowl, and mix together your sugar and walnuts. Then, when those two are expertly intertwined with one another, spread out that sugary nut mixture on top of the Filo Dough in the baking pan.
- When you’re happy with how everything is looking, take another 5 or so sheets of Filo, and butter them up again with cannabis-infused butter, and layer them on top of that sugary nut mixture.
- At this point, your oven should be good to go. And, if it is, simply slide this baking dish inside, and let it bake for 50 minutes.
- As that sucker cooks in the oven, you’ll want to grab a large saucepan. Place it over “Medium-to-High” heat, and toss in your remaining sugar, vanilla, spices, water, and lemon.
- Let all of these elements cook with one another, until they take on a syrupy consistency. At which point, you can toss in some honey, and keep it over the heat for one additional minute. Then, you can remove it from the stove, and place it to the side for the time being.
- When your baklava is done baking, remove it from the oven, and cut it into small portions. I’d say aim for squares that are roughly 2” x 2”. After that, carefully drizzle that syrup over the top of each one.
- Now, while it’s totally fine to start eating them at this point, I’d strongly urge you all to practice patience, and allow these flavors to fully immerse themselves with one another for at least a day, if not two.
- I know that sounds like “forever,” but if you cover them, and keep them in a cool, dry place, when the time finally comes to enjoy them, you’ll realize that the wait was more than worth it, as the end result will be far more decadent and delicious than ever before.
