- Fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth
- Measuring cups and spoons
Ingredients
- 2 cups whole milk (or milk alternative)
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons black tea leaves or 2 black tea bags
- 1-2 tablespoons cannabis-infused honey or butter
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4-5 green cardamom pods
- 4 whole cloves
- 1 -inch piece fresh ginger, sliced
- 1 star anise (optional)
- 2-3 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the water, cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, cloves, ginger slices, and star anise (if using). Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes to release the spices' flavors.
- Add the black tea leaves or tea bags to the saucepan and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes. If using tea bags, remove them after brewing.
- Pour in the milk and add the sugar. Stir well and heat the mixture until it’s hot but not boiling.
- Add the cannabis-infused honey or butter to the saucepan and whisk until it is fully melted and incorporated into the chai mixture.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and strain the chai through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into mugs to remove the spices and tea leaves.
- Stir in the vanilla extract. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed. Serve hot and enjoy your relaxing Cannabis-Infused Chai Latte!
Notes
- Adjust the amount of cannabis-infused honey or butter based on your tolerance and desired potency.
- For a vegan version, use a plant-based milk such as almond, soy, or oat milk.
- The chai can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat before serving.
