As you already know HIV/AIDS is a serious immune disease that affects the lives of millions. While there are ways to cope with the effects in today’s climate, that sort of instance wasn’t always the case, as HIV/AIDS used to be a much more solemn diagnosis to be dealt.
However, while there’s a veritable laundry list of prescription drugs that are being doled out to patients nowadays, there’s one, more naturally-occurring herbal medicine that seems to be gaining prominence with those in the medical field.
That herb, you ask? Why it’s none other than everybody’s favorite plant, cannabis, of course!
The relationship between marijuana and AIDS isn’t a newly formed friendship, but their path towards connectivity hasn’t been a smoothly paved road, let’s just say.
Suffering From HIV/AIDS? Cannabis Can Help
The reason for that lies solely with our inept government. You see, for decades, the corrupt politicians out there on Capitol Hill have been looking for ways to covertly fatten their pockets. And they usually do so by “hiding in plain sight,” so to speak. They can accomplish this by endorsing things that they, through the use of propaganda, make the public think is the “right” decision, when in actuality, it’s doing far more harm than good.

To be specific, let’s look at how the government deals with pharmaceutical companies, the ones responsible for producing and distributing opioids across the country.
The opioid crisis is only getting worse, as thousands of Americans lose their lives every year to opioid overdoses and addictions. These super expensive pills promise the world, but usually only deliver a series of unforeseen negative side effects and addictions.
Not exactly a “cure,” if you ask me.
Which then begs the question: How are they able to keep producing these potentially lethal pills?
Well, it’s mainly because the government doesn’t just allow them the right to do so, they encourage it, through various forms of legislation that they pass in Washington. And, for their “hard work” in Congress, these corrupt politicians are handsomely rewarded by pharmaceutical lobbyists who slyly shovel funds into their campaigns and whatnot, whenever the dirty work is complete.
And, one way to keep their pharmaceutical buddies happy, and the bribery flowing, is to eliminate any and all competitors that may impede on pharmaceutical companies and their exorbitant profit margins.
And what threat to “Big Pharma” is bigger than cannabis? In short, there is none.

This has been the driving force behind the government’s long-held anti-cannabis stance for all these decades. It was only in recent history that such a changing of the tide has taken place, and needless to say, it has “Big Pharma” on its heels, because politicians are starting to see they can earn honest government-approved revenue through the allowance of cannabis legalization.
In other words, their time in the spotlight is quickly coming to a close, and that couldn’t have happened soon enough. But, to be fair, they are still alive and well today, so it’s best not to count one’s “chickens” before they hatch, I suppose.
However, it does appear as though the federal government is loosening its once tight grip on cannabis, and allowing researchers and labs across the nation to conduct in-depth studies on cannabis, and how it can be used as a vital medicine. Which, to be honest, should’ve been happening years ago. But, hey, beggars can’t be choosers, right?
Now, back to the matter at hand.
Cannabis, in lieu of expensive, super-addictive, potentially-lethal prescription drugs, can be tremendously beneficial for those dealing with the long list of ailments that coincide with HIV/AIDS. But, we’re not just pulling that out of nowhere. Multiple medical experts have seen just how powerful marijuana, in its various forms, can be during this process.

Like Peter McWilliams, for example. He’s a marijuana activist and author. Sadly, he passed away nearly 20 years ago, but even back then he knew how amazing cannabis can be for those dealing with the throes of this unfortunate disease.
Specifically, on the matter of cannabis being utilized as a medicine for those who were diagnosed with HIV/AIDS he said, “In addition to the remarkable anti-nausea effects, medical marijuana had one additional benefit – now how do I say this without corrupting the youth of the nation? – I had forgotten how enjoyable it is being stoned.”
Adding, “I had forgotten, too, how healing enjoyment can be. Yes, pleasure is therapy. Ease to unravel disease. A deep appreciation of life as an answer to death.”
Okay, so that was a bit “poetic,” but his sentiments still ring true. There’s more than just the obvious benefits that we see taking place. There’s a lot to be said about the euphoria and optimism that comes along with cannabis, and how it can affect a person’s overall well-being, inside and out.
On the more broader sense of effects, marijuana is capable of helping the patient get back to living a normal, pain-free life in a number of different ways. For example, they can help combat nausea that occurs with such a diagnosis. Also, during those times when conjuring up an appetite is critical, there’s no more reliable “munchie” inducer than cannabis. Marijuana can also help those who are dealing with mental issues, such as stress, and depression. There’s really nothing cannabis can’t do, to be honest.

This multifaceted plant can do no wrong, in my opinion. It’s perfect, it’s safe, and it helps millions of people live better lives, especially if they are unfortunately stricken with some sort of disease, sickness, ailment, or injury. Cannabis is always there to help, and it never lets you down, unlike it’s ridiculously dangerous, yet somehow “super legal” opioid counterpart.
Hopefully, as the world starts to embrace cannabis more and more, we’ll see the government finally change its stubborn anti-cannabis stance, and help the citizens of this country get the bud they so rightly deserve.
I mean, that only seems right, doesn’t it?
There’s nothing but positives about marijuana, and its lengthy list of positive benefits, and I truly believe it’s only a matter of time before the “powers that be” in Washington see that, too.
