NDiskreet’s So Cal White Lightning preroll is a steal at $7. A fat, full-gram joint with a 22% THC percentage usually costs twice as much. The terpenes are the usual crew. I don’t expect exotic, outlandish flavors, but I also don’t expect the weed to taste like dirt.
For a full-gram, the joint is surprisingly short. It looks more like chubby, crackly-skinned finger than a cannabis preroll. The rolling paper is thin and looks ready to burst. Forest-green clumps of weed bulge out. When the joint is actually torn open, I can see the pearly sheen of trichome dust mixed with the flower.
The strongest aroma that I can detect is pure lemon, like I’m smelling a pitcher of unsweetened lemonade rather than a joint. As the weed burns, the citrus scent grows stronger. It’s a normal aroma for limonene-rich cannabis. I think I’ve probably smelled a hundred strains like this by now.
Bitter lemons. That’s all I can think about when the smoke fills my mouth. Bitter lemons. All of the limonene that I detected in the aroma is out full force combined with a spicy hit of caryophyllene. It’s a flavor that I appreciate the more that I experience it. Lemon Head candy without the sugar.
Indicas are supposed to produce a slow, sleepy high that does a body good after a long day. That’s not what I’m getting here, however. I feel alive, ready to move. The high takes a moment to build to its crescendo.

Nuleaf felt cramped before COVID-19 hoisted new restrictions on dispensaries. Now that only a handful of people are allowed inside at a time anytime, it doesn’t make a difference. You may have to wait outside in the brutal heat even if you show up at one of the huge dispensaries in town. At Nuleaf, you can avoid the annoyance by showing up during the off-hours or ordering online.
I’m lazy, so I like the second option. Why battle traffic when you can have your ganja brought to you? Delivery is free if you spend at least $85. Nothing could be easier. Pick out what you want online, press the “order” button, and voila!, high-quality cannabis will be brought to your door. Supposedly, you can get delivery from 8am to 10pm. However, I’ve had zero success when I placed the order after 8pm. Bad luck?
Nuleaf works with Dutchie for their online system. You can use the same account to order from about 16 spots in town. When your driver is on the way, you can follow the progress like its an Uber. This time, my driver arrived about two hours after my order was confirmed. He was in and out of my life in about two seconds.
